Fipronil 40% + Imidaclorpid 40% WG is a contact and systemic insecticide. It contains 400 gram of Fipronil and 400 gram of Imidacloprid active ingredients, per kg of formulation.

Time of Application

Application Method: One application of Fipronil 40% + Imidacloprid 40% WG as soil drenching at the time of planting.

Precautions

  1. Avoid contact with spilled product or contaminated surfaces.
  2. Wear personal protective equipment. Unprotected persons must be kept away.
  3. Do not allow the undiluted product to come into contact with skin. Use PVC or other plastic material gloves or nitrile gloves and long sleeved shirts to protect skin to avoid direct contact with the product.
  4. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep working clothes separately. For eye protection, use safety glasses (goggles).
  5. Wash hands away from eating, drinking, smoking or using the toilet and also wash hands immediately after spray. If necessary, take a shower after finishing the spray.
  6. Remove soiled and soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again.

Symptoms of Poisoning

Convulsions, Tremors, Anxiety, Restlessness. Caution: The above-mentioned symptoms must not be confused with organophosphorus compounds. There may be delayed neurological effects, including brain oedema.

First Aid

  • Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely. Call a physician immediately.
  • When inhaled, remove to fresh air and seek medical aid. Give oxygen or artificial respiration, if needed.
  • In case of skin contact, wash off thoroughly with plenty of soap and water, if available with polyethylene glycol 400, subsequently rinse with water.
  • In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
  • If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately. Gastric lavage should be considered in case of significant ingestions only within the first two hours. However, the application of activated charcoal and sodium sulphate is always advisable.
  • In case of convulsions, a benzodiazepine (e.g., diazepam) should be given according to standard regimens.
  • Keep under medical supervision for at least 48 hours.

Phytotoxicity

Non-phytotoxic when used as recommended.

Antidote

Specific antidote not known. Treat symptomatically.

Disposal Of Used Container

1. The empty container shall be broken and buried away from the habitation or incinerated.

2. The used packages shall not be left outside to prevent their re-use.

3. Packages or surplus material and washings should be disposed off in safe manner so as to prevent environment and water pollution.

Storage Conditions

1. The packages containing insecticides shall be stored in separate room or premises, away from the rooms or premises used for storing other articles or shall be kept in separate rooms / almirahs under lock and key depending upon the nature and quantity of the insecticide.

2. The rooms or premises meant for storing the insecticide shall be well built, well lit, dry, well ventilated and of sufficient dimensions to avoid contamination with water vapour.
